Xanadu, our Young People’s Production for 2019, will be performed August 1-4 at New Minowa Players Theatre.
Featuring actors junior high through college age, Xanadu follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California, in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first ROLLER DISCO! (Hey, it’s 1980!) But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds.
Xanadu will be performed Thursday, August 1 at 7:30, Friday, August 2 a 7:30, Saturday, August 3 at both 2:00 and 7:30 and Sunday, August 4 at 2:00 . All performances are at New Minowa Players Theatre, 906 South Mill Street, Decorah.
