Director Sam Whitehead is pleased to announce casting for NMP’s November show, Grand Tally.
Grand Tally, the world’s foremost map maker, is under orders from the publisher to create an atlas of exactly 80 pages. When cartographers hand them a 82-page draft, something has to be done. Executives, including Mr. Mason, played by Adam Lenehan, solve the problem by removing Montana from the atlas, and redrawing the western states.
A Montana militia group, including Jim McIntosh as Bouncer and Jon Thompson as Cap, assume the map makers received advanced notice of the government’s intent to do away with Montana. A Christian cult, led by Joeann Tesar as Reverend Angle, assumes the Rapture is about to happen in Montana.
Mr. and Mrs. Travers, played by David Mendez and Emily Halder, are using the new map to visit relatives in Montana, and Montana residents Jeannie, played by Avalon Dziak, and Lorene, played by Aleesa Baakko head to New York to confront the television personalities Sally Lou, played by Violet Hatfield, and Rex, played by Robert Wolf, after Sally Lou and Rex stripped Lorene of a valuable prize because she claimed to be from Montana, which clearly doesn’t exist.
As the Montana State Militia and the FBI become involved, reporter Gus Harvey, played by Aaron Kvale, follows the action.
All actors in this show play multiple roles as the madcap adventures unfold.
Grand Tally will be performed November 21-24 at New Minowa Players Theatre. Sponsors for the show are Decorah Bank and Trust, Family Table Restaurant, Gallery of Tops, Iroc Web Design Services, Pizza Ranch, RocketDog Books, Rick and Sheryl Scheffert, A&J Petersburg Agency, and Singing Hammers Construction.
