Gara Lonning performs his first EVER hour special at his hometown community theater, New Minowa Players.

He was only 19 YEARS OLD when his “Self-Proclaimed Comedy Coach” father moved his entire family from THE AMERICAN MIDWEST to NEW YORK CITY.

This show is a love letter to unique families, queer self-discovery and devoted fathers. This is not a stand up comedy show (performed by reformed stand up comedian Gara Lonning).Based on a true story, Gara takes the audience on an enchanted “Tilt-A-Whirl” by way of his Midwestern beginnings and NYC “comedy bro” upbringing. This show is a blast into another comedic dimension entirely complete with musical numbers, dancing wrestlers and electric-1980s camp.

This will be the Midwest premiere of this show after Gara’s critically acclaimed 26-performance run at The 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. 

The show was funded by Phoebe Waller Bridge’s “Keep It Fringe” Award and was given “4 stars” by Edinburgh’s acclaimed theater reviewer at The Scotsman.
