Auditions for Disney’s The Little Mermaid
Auditions for Disney’s The Little Mermaid will be held Thursday, April 21 and Saturday, April 23. Anyone who wishes to audition and is not available to do so in person should submit a video audition to firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight April 21.
Auditions for named roles are open to actors age 13 and above. Actors age 12 or under will be auditioning to be in the chorus and require parent permission and the presence of an adult.
Everyone auditioning must fill out this AUDITION FORM. Those auditioning for a lead should prepare a short monologue (90seconds or less) and a short musical selection (approximately 12 bars of music) and should choose one of the 30-minute audition blocks on the Audition Sheet.
The audition process will be as follows:
Actors age 12 and under will be auditioning for chorus parts and should attend auditions either Thursday at 5:00 or Saturday at 9:00 a.m. These actors will learn part of a dance and sing part of a song. No preparation is required. Actors age 13 and above who wish to audition for a named part should choose one of the 30-minute audition blocks. There will be 5 people auditioning in each block. Choreography will be learned as a group, then individuals will perform their monologue and vocal selection. Once the requests for specific time slots are compiled we will email you with a firm audition time. You will need to respond to that email. Adults wishing to be in the chorus should also sign up to attend one of the 30-minute audition times, but need not prepare a monologue or music.
Call-backs, if needed, will be Sunday, April 24.
