Director's Application - New Minowa Players Community Theatre

Young People’s Production - Early August 2025
The first production in our season is a great chance for young people to work on their theatre craft, from acting, to directing, to backstage work, and more. The YPP will cast actors junior high through college age. Preference will be given to a high school or college age director. This production is performed at the NMP Theatre.
Children’s Show - Late October 2025
The second production in the season gives our younger actors the chance to take the stage! This production casts actors age 5 through 8th grade. This production is performed at the NMP Theatre.
Creative Venture - Early November 2025
This production slot is an exciting opportunity to think creatively and outside-the-box. Examples of past productions have been cabaret-style (Ye Olde Cabaret), performances at a non-theatre venue (The Rocky Horror Show at Impact Coffee), and straight plays (Twelve Angry Men). It must be some sort of live theatrical performance; but other than that, your ideas are welcome and encouraged!
Family Show - Last two weekends of January 2026
Our mid-winter show is a production that should be suitable for family viewing. Actor ages may vary; typically there are roles for adults, but the show may include roles for younger performers. This production is performed at the NMP Theatre.
Spring Show - Late March or Early April 2026
This production is typically an all-adult performer slot. It is open to a musical or straight play. This production is performed at the NMP Theatre.
Summer Musical - Last full weekend of June 2026
The finale to our season is a large-scale musical production. Director should be prepared to develop and collaborate with a full production team (music director, set designer, costumer designer, lighting, sound, backstage, etc.) This production is performed at the Decorah High School Auditorium.
