Adult and high-school aged actors are invited to audition for our April show, The Crucible. Auditions will be held at NMP at 906 S. Mill Street on Saturday, February 1, and Sunday, February 2, from 11 am to 1 pm.
Those auditioning should bring a prepared monologue approximately one minute in length. Memorization is preferred, but performing with the monologue in hand is acceptable as long as the actor it is well-prepared. An improvisation exercise will be part of the audition process, as will a cold read from the script. Please wear comfortable clothing and be prepared for movement.
High school students must bring a signed parental consent form. A parent or guardian can sign it before the day of auditions, or it can be done at the auditions. Those without a signed form will not be allowed to audition.
Everyone auditioning should bring a list of personal conflicts in February, March, and the beginning of April. The director will use these in making a rehearsal calendar. Those unable to be at all rehearsals during the final two weeks should talk to the director prior to auditioning. Performances of The Crucible will be April 2-5, with evening shows at 7:00 on Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3, both at 2:00 matinee and a 7:00 p.m. performance on Saturday, April 4, and only a 2:00 matinee on Sunday, April 5.
